Baylor's Bruce to experiment jump to NBA
Apr 21, 2007, 2:40 GMT
Waco, TX - Baylor junior guard Aaron Bruce announced Friday he will make himself available for the 2007 NBA draft, but will not hire an agent.
'Our staff fully supports Aaron in taking a step in pursuit of his dream to one day play in the NBA,' Baylor head coach Scott Drew said. 'Right now the way the system is set up it is a great opportunity for juniors to see what the workouts are like and to get a realistic view of what the experts think of their chances. Unless Aaron can work his way into the first round he will return to Baylor for his senior year and complete his degree.'
Bruce, who averaged 11.3 points per game last season, has the option until June 18 to withdraw from the draft and return for his senior season. The 2007 NBA Draft will be conducted June 28.
The 6-3 Australian has averaged 14.3 points, 3.5 assists and hit on 40 percent of three-pointers in three seasons at Baylor.
