Pair of Nevada players may head to NBA
Apr 19, 2007, 22:55 GMT
Reno, NV - Nevada juniors Marcelus Kemp and Ramon Sessions both declared for the NBA Draft on Thursday.
Both players filed the early-entry paperwork with the NBA but will not hire agents. By not hiring agents, they have the option to withdraw from the draft and return for their senior seasons at the University.
The deadline for underclassmen to change their minds and withdraw from draft consideration is Monday, June 18.
Kemp earned first-team All-WAC honors this season after ranking third in the league in scoring at 18.5 points per game. He ranks fourth on the Nevada career list with 157 three-pointers and 10th in career scoring with 1,280 points.
Sessions was a second-team All-WAC selection and led the team in assists for the third consecutive season with 4.7 assists per game. He is second in the Wolf Pack record books with 478 career assists and finished third on the team in scoring at 12.3 points per game.
'I am supportive of Marcelus' and Ramon's desire to explore the NBA and gain the information necessary to make educated decisions,' Nevada head coach Mark Fox said.
The 2007 NBA Draft will be held on June 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
