Kansas City, MO - The University of Missouri-Kansas City announced on Thursday that Matt Brown has been appointed head coach of the men's basketball team.
'I am confident Matt will work with great enthusiasm to graduate our men's basketball student-athletes, while building a program that will win championships and become one of the finest programs at the mid-major level,' said UMKC chancellor Guy Bailey.
Brown, who spent the last five seasons as an assistant to John Beilein at West Virginia, becomes the eighth head coach in school history. He replaces Rich Zvosec, who was fired in March.
The Kangaroos went 12-20 last season under Zvosec, who posted an 84-91 record in six seasons at the helm.
