Cal's Hardin to experiment jumping to NBA
Apr 10, 2007, 5:50 GMT
Berkeley, CA - California junior center DeVon Hardin announced his decision Monday to make himself eligible for the NBA Draft. Hardin doesn't plan to sign with an agent, leaving him the option of returning to the Golden Bear program for his senior season.
'I am looking to get an evaluation of my game and find out where I am physically,' Hardin said. 'The only way to get better is to compete against the best. I want to see where I stand, and my decision will depend on how I do against those guys. I don't see anything to lose. I'm still going to classes. I want to get feedback from NBA scouts and let them tell me where I stand and what I need to work on.'
The 6-foot-11 Hardin averaged 10.7 points and 8.4 rebounds, while blocking 21 shots in 11 games last season before suffering a stress fracture in his left mid-foot.
