Stillwater, OK - Keon Lawrence scored 18 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, as the Missouri Tigers shocked No. 18 Oklahoma State, 75-64, at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Matt Lawrence added 15 points and Marshall Brown pitched in with 12 for Missouri (16-9, 5-7 Big 12), which has won three of its last four.
'When you go on the road in this league, all you want to do is be in position,' said Missouri coach Mike Anderson. 'I thought in the second half our guys really stepped up and made plays.'
Mario Boggan and Jameson Curry both deposited 16 points for the Cowboys (19-7, 5-6), who lost at home for the first time all season. Kenny Cooper scored 10 for the Cowboys, who have lost four of their last five games.
Keon Lawrence's three put Missouri up 48-41 early in the second half as the Tigers started to take control. Missouri was able to stretch its lead to 53-43 following a Matt Lawrence triple and a Leo Lyons dunk.
The Cowboys cut the deficit in half with five straight points, but the Tigers' lead was back to 62-52 after another Matt Lawrence trey.
Moments later Brown hit a three to beat the shot clock and put Missouri up 67-56 with 5:18 left to play.
Oklahoma State never got within seven the rest of the way
'This was a tough loss and I feel for our fans to have to sit through that,' said Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton. 'I told our guys that this was one of the least-inspired performances that I have ever seen one of our teams play in this arena in 17 years. I did not think that we played with much toughness in the second half. We were casual with the basketball. We had some guys get tired and we just let them take the ball away from us. At the offensive end, we did not shoot the ball well in the second half.'
The Cowboys jumped on Missouri early with an 8-0 run to start the game.
Moments later, a Matt Lawrence three ignited a 12-4 Tigers run, pulling Missouri within one, 16-15, midway through the half,
The two Big 12 rivals exchanged buckets the rest of the way and entered the half tied at 35.
