Lubbock, TX - Texas Tech coach Bobby Knight received a public reprimand from the Big 12 Conference after criticizing an official's call following a 93-91 loss in double overtime to Oklahoma State on Saturday.
According to the Conference, Knight's comments violated the Big 12 Conference's Principles and Standards of Sportsmanship.
'The Conference's Principles and Standards of Sportsmanship prohibit coaches from making any public comments critical of game officials,' said Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weiberg. 'The Big 12 has a program in place to review the performance of game officials that includes the accuracy of judgment calls. This season-long system of evaluation determines whether or not an official will receive future assignments to work Big 12 games.'
The Red Raiders are 16-10 this season, including a 5-6 mark in the Big 12.
