Tulsa, OK - Chris Roberts-Douglas scored 20 points to lead eighth-ranked Memphis to a 69-52 win over Tulsa at Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Antonio Anderson had 15 points and seven boards for the Tigers (22-3, 12-0 C- USA), who have won 14 straight. Memphis has not lost since falling to Arizona 79-71 on December 20. The Tigers will most likely face their stiffest competition since then this Saturday when they travel to face Gonzaga in a non-conference matchup.
Jamel McLean had career-high 16 points and eight boards for the Golden Hurricane (15-9, 5-6), who have lost two straight and six of nine.
Ahead 16-14 with eight minutes left in the first half, the Tigers started to pull away with a 13-1 run. Douglas-Roberts scored seven points during the surge, capping it with a pair of free throws at the 4:59 mark for a 29-15 lead and Memphis coasted to halftime with a 34-24 advantage.
The Tigers put the game away in the second half. Ahead 45-36, Douglas-Roberts spearheaded a 13-2 run that gave Memphis a 20-point lead. Douglas-Roberts scored eight points during the run, capping it with a layup at the 6:40 mark for a 58-38 lead.
