San Diego, CA - Mario Boggan scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds, as the 22nd-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys downed the Ball State Cardinals, 75-56, in the first game of the San Diego SLAM.
JamesOn Curry scored 13 points for Oklahoma State (11-0), which has won its first 11 games for just the fifth time in school history. David Monds and Terrel Harris both added 10 points in the win.
Skip Mills scored 15 points for Ball State (3-6), which played its second straight game against a nationally-ranked opponent, as the club was crushed by Butler on Wednesday by a 65-41 final.
Micah Rollin posted 13 points and seven rebounds, and Anthony Newell added 12 points for the Cardinals, who have now lost six of their last seven outings since posting back-to-back wins to open the campaign.
Ahead 27-23, Oklahoma State scored the final eight points before halftime, and then eight more consecutive points out of the locker room capped by a Boggan three-pointer for a 20-point lead with 17:29 remaining.
Ball State shot 18-for-48 (37.5 percent) from the floor, compared to 26-for-52 (50 percent) by Oklahoma State. The Cardinals managed to control the paint, outscoring the Cowboys 28-18 in the lane.
