Tennessee DB Gaines done for season

Knoxville, TN - University of Tennessee senior defensive back Antonio Gaines will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.Jason McVeigh, the school's head athletic trainer, reported Monday that an MRI revealed the tear, but that a surgery date is yet to be determined.Gaines injured the ligament in Saturday's home opener against Southern Mississippi, the second start of his career. One week earlier in the season opener against California, Gaines had a career-high six tackles.© 2007 The Sports Network
