Fort Worth, TX - Andy Dalton completed 18-of-30 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown, as the 22nd-ranked TCU Horned Frogs blanked the Baylor Bears, 27-0, at home.
Joseph Turner rushed for 56 yards on nine carries for the Horned Frogs, who are riding a nine-game win streak during which they have outscored opponents by a 206-13 margin in the first half.
Ryan Christian had 40 yards rushing on nine attempts with a touchdown, and Marcus Brock caught five balls for 47 yards for TCU. Shae Reagan added a 50- yard reception, and Jimmy Young notched 35 yards on two catches.
Blake Szymanski completed 23-of-47 passes for 216 yards with three interceptions for Baylor, which got blanked in a season opener for the first time since a 13-0 loss to Nebraska to open the 1990 season.
Brandon Whitaker rushed for just 30 yards on 12 carries for the Bears. Brad Taylor caught three passes for 51 yards, and Mikail Baker had four receptions for 47 yards in the loss.
After a scoreless first quarter, TCU finished a nine-play drive less than a minute into the second on Justin Watts' one-yard touchdown run.
A three-and-out by Baylor midway through the second preceded Christian taking the ball 12 yards into the end zone on the first play from scrimmage for a 14-0 Frogs lead with 4:34 left in the first half.
A 27-yard field goal by Chris Manfredini less than a minute into the fourth quarter capped a 10-play drive by TCU, which six minutes later needed just three plays to score its final touchdown on a 14-yard pass from Dalton to Ervin Dickerson. The drive was set up by linebacker Jason Phillips, who intercepted an errant Szymanski pass and returned it to the Baylor 20- yard line.
A 34-yard Manfredini field goal with 4:50 left capped the shutout for TCU.

Dalton fumbled at the Baylor one- yard line on a keeper in the first quarter. Baylor has forced at least one turnover in 21 of its last 24 games...TCU defensive end Tommy Blake, who led the Mountain West Conference with seven sacks last season, left the team for medical leave and was not in uniform...TCU is a perfect 5-0 versus the Big 12 over the last two seasons, allowing just 11 ppg in that span...Baylor holds a 50-48-7 advantage in the head-to-head series between these former Southwest Conference foes.
