West Virginia suspends two players

Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia football program suspended defensive back Ellis Lankster and linebacker J.T. Thomas indefinitely on Tuesday.The pair were arrested over the weekend for transferring and receiving stolen property.'I am aware that Ellis and J.T. have been involved in an off-campus situation,' West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez said. 'I am investigating at this time and will make the determination about their status within the football program after all the facts are in.'Lankster is a junior who transferred to the school in January from Jones Junior College.Thomas is a red-shirt freshman who has not seen any action. He missed last season with a lingering ankle sprain. He was expected to serve as a back-up outside linebacker this season.© 2007 The Sports Network
