Ochoa strengthens lead in Rolex Rankings

Philadelphia, PA - Lorena Ochoa finally collected her first major championship victory Sunday at the Women's British Open Championship and is now a little less than seven points ahead in the Rolex Rankings.

Karrie Webb and Annika Sorenstam are second and third and trail Ochoa by 6.62 in the average category.

U.S. Women's Open champion Cristie Kerr stayed in fourth, followed by Se-Ri Pak and this year's other two major champions, Suzann Pettersen and Morgan Pressel.

Ji-Yai Shin and Paula Creamer each moved up one to eight and nine. Juli Inkster fell two to round out the top 10.

Mi Hyun Kim and Ai Miyazato remained in 11th and 12th, respectively. Jee Young Lee tied for runner-up honors behind Ochoa at St. Andrews and rose three places to No. 13.

Jeong Jang, Brittany Lincicome and Shiho Oyama all dipped one. Stacy Prammanasudh, Seon-Hwa Lee and Mi-Joong Jeon kept their places from last week. Yuri Fudoh inched up one to replace Momoko Ueda in the top 20.

Maria Hjorth also tied for second place at the Women's British Open and jumped up 14 to No. 41 this week.
