Augusta, Georgia - Tiger Woods and Charl Schwartzel closed in Sunday on overnight Masters leader Rory McIlroy at Augusta National Golf Club.
McIlroy, who went into the closing round with a four-shot lead, played a bogey at the first hole and the fifth, which left him two- over for the day and 10-under for the tournament.
Schwartzel, who started the round on eight-under, four behind McIlroy, birdied the first and eagled the third hole before going one-over at the fourth. After five holes he shared the lead with McIlroy.
Woods, meanwhile, who started six behind the young Irishman, birdied two, three, six and seven and managed an eagle on the eighth to also go 10-under after scoring a bogey four at the par-three fourth hole.
The four-time champion has never won a major in which he has not had at least a share of the lead going into the final round.
Gary Woodland was the leader in the clubhouse on 286 for two-under after playing two-under for the day.
South Korean Kyung-Tae Kim pushed himself up the standings with an excellent four-under round of 68 to finish the tournament on three- over.
