Olazabal named Europe's Ryder Cup captain

Berlin - Jose Maria Olazabal has been named as Europe's 2012 Ryder Cup captain to succeed Colin Montgmorie.
The 44-year-old Spaniard will lead Europe's defence in Illinois in September next year, the European Tour said Tuesday.
Olazabal has played in seven Ryder Cups and has been vice-captain for the last two.
Montgomerie stepped down after captaining the European team to a one-point victory over the United States at Celtic Manor, Wales in October.
Corey Pavin's successor as US captain is set to be announced on Thursday.
