Aug 14, 2010, 19:52 GMT
Sheboygan, Wisconsin - American Matt Kuchar took a one-shot lead at the PGA Championship on Saturday as the second round was completed.
Heavy fog Friday on the Whistling Straits course in Kohler, Wisconsin caused a lengthy delay to the start of the championship and resulted in many of the late starters not finishing their rounds.
Kuchar, who played a 67 and 69 for an eight-under 136 and Nick Watney, who was one stroke behind, were amongst the nine overnight leaders who had completed their second round on Friday and did not have to start early in the morning.
JB Holmes and Jim Furyk managed to pick up some shots when they finished their second rounds early on Saturday and moved into third place on six under.
Behind them a group of nine players, including young Irish player Rory McIlroy, former world number one Vijay Singh and Korean Seung Yul Noh were within striking distance on five-under.
Tiger Woods, who is struggling to gain an automatic place in the American Ryder Cup, finished his second round on 70 to be three under for the tournament.
Among the players who missed the cut were defending champion YE Yang, as well as Padraig Harrington and British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen.
The second round is due to be completed later Saturday with the final round scheduled for Sunday.
