Sutil in court on assault charge
Jan 30, 2012, 9:13 GMT
Munich - Formula One driver Adrian Sutil appeared in court in Germany Monday accused of assault in a nightclub dispute following the Chinese Grand Prix last year.
The 29-year-old German is alleged to have attacked Renault-Lotus co-owner Eric Lux with a champagne glass in the incident following the April 17 race.
Lux, who also appeared at the hearing in Munich, suffered a serious injury to the neck.
The court has set aside two days for the case and is expected to view video evidence of the incident at the Shanghai nightclub M1NT.
Sutil has denied any intent to harm Lux. His manager, Manfred Zimmermann, said shortly before the hearing Sutil was relaxed about the hearing.
Sutil is currently without a drive for 2012 after being replaced by Germany's Nico Hulkenberg at Force India.
