Vettel doesn't want to talk about pole position record
Nov 24, 2011, 16:04 GMT
Sao Paulo, Brazil - Sebastian Vettel is not obsessed about gaining sole possession of the Formula One qualifying record on Saturday because it is impossible to set up a car for such a session alone.
Already assured of back-to-back world titles, the Red Bull driver Vettel can earn a 15th season pole at the 2011 finale in Brazil, breaking a tie on 14 with Briton Nigel Mansell.
But the German did not want to dwell on that in a packed Red Bull motorhome on Thursday, telling reporters 'please stop talking about it.'
Vettel said the set-up in qualifying is always designed for the actual race the next day as well.
'You can't say I will focus on qualifying and sacrifice the race,' he said.
Vettel wants to end the season 'as good as possible' after going out in the previous race in Abu Dhabi in the first lap with a puncture.
He said that the reason for the flat was still not 100 per cent but that the team and tyre makers Pirelli have determined that he wasn't to blame for the mishap.
