Vettel not sanctioned over cutting corner
Oct 15, 2011, 10:30 GMT
Yeongam, South Korea - World champion Sebastian Vettel was not punished on Saturday for cutting a corner in qualifying for the South Korean Formula One Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver cut a chicane before going into the pits ahead of his fastest lap which placed him second on the grid next to pole sitter Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.
Vettel was summoned to the race stewards over the incident, but they ruled that enough time was left on the qualifying clock that he would have also managed his final fast lap without the incident and gained no advantage from it.
