Singapore - Red Bull's Mark Webber on Saturday recorded the fastest time in the final practice session for the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix as teammate and world champion Sebastian Vettel settled for third.
Webber registered 1 minute 46.081 seconds on the 5.067-kilometre Marina Bay Street Circuit, 0.027 seconds ahead of second-placed McLaren driver Jenson Button.
Vettel, who dominated Friday's practice sessions, was third fastest, followed by Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. Lewis Hamilton in the second McLaren came in fifth, with Nico Rosberg of Mercedes settling for sixth spot.
Qualifying for Sunday's race was set for later Saturday.
Vettel, who has eight wins under his belt this season, is going into the floodlight race Sunday with 284 points, well ahead of Alonso with 172.
The German will be assured of regaining his crown ahead of the final five races, making him the youngest F1 driver to defend his title, if all goes his way Sunday.
