Bruno Senna to take over Nick Heidfeld's Lotus-Renault seat
Aug 24, 2011, 18:09 GMT
Berlin - The Lotus-Renault Formula One team said on Wednesday that Brazilian Bruno Senna would take over Nick Heidfeld's cockpit seat for Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix.
'Lotus Renault GP is pleased to announce that Bruno Senna will race alongside Vitaly Petrov at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps,' the team said in a statement.
The 28-year-old, who is reported to bring sponsor money with him, was a test driver with the team.
The nephew of former world champion Ayrton Senna, raced for Hispania last year, but failed to pick up any points, with a 14th place in South Korea being his best finish.
Heidfeld was only given a place in the Lotus-Renault team after Poland's Robert Kubica injured himself in a rally crash shortly before the start of the season and has managed a third-place finish.
The German is currently eighth in the drivers' standings with 34 points - two more than his Russian team-mate Vitaly Petrov.
