Mar 22, 2011, 10:22 GMT
Berlin - Formula One team Lotus on Tuesday said that Indian driver Karun Chandhok has joined them as a reserve driver for the 2011 season.
Chandhok last season drove in 10 races for the HRT team.
'This is another great day for Team Lotus,' team principal Tony Fernandes said.
'Karun's appointment to our team gives us not only his immense driving talent and F1 experience, both of which will help us develop the car even further, but also brings one of the warmest, most professional personalities I have the pleasure of knowing into the Team Lotus family.'
Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli are Lotus' drivers for this season.
The season-opening Australian Grand Prix will be held in Melbourne on Sunday.
