Hamilton sets pace again in last practice for Hungarian GP

Aug 2, 2008, 12:22 GMT

Budapest - McLaren-Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was again fastest in the last practice session Saturday before qualifying later in the day for Sunday's Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix.

The 23-year-old Briton had a best time of 1 minute 20.228 seconds, 0.339 seconds up on Ferrari's Felipe Massa of Brazil.

Third in the morning session was Timo Glock of Germany in a Toyota, with Hamilton's team-mate Heikki Kovalainen of Finland fourth. Defending champion Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari was ninth.

Hamilton, who leads the drivers' championship, is seeking a third successive Grand Prix victory in Sunday's race at the 4.381-kilometre Hungaroring circuit.

He had also registered the fastest time of the day in the second free practice session on Friday, after Massa had been quickest in the morning's first session.

The qualifying session later Saturday will determine grid positions for Sunday's race.

Hamilton, who has won the last two Formula One races at Silverstone and Hockenheim, heads the drivers' standings with 58 points after 10 of 18 races. Massa lies second on 54, followed by Raikkonen on 51.
