Frankfurt - Michael Schumacher may be the future team principal job at the Ferrari Formula One team, a German motorsport magazine said.
The auto, motor und sport magazine said in a report made available ahead of Wednesday's publication that Schumacher is involved in Ferrari's preparations for the 2007 season which suggests that he is preparing for a leading role in the team.
'A person who is involved in such a way is prepared for a high-ranking job. It must be the position of team leader,' the report quoted a not named Ferrari official as saying.
Schumacher's spokeswomen Sabine Kehm dismissed the report, saying that 'Michael's role will be in the background' and reiterating that his role at the team will be that of an advisor.
Schumacher drove for the famed Italian team for 11 years before retiring at the end of the 2006 season. He won five world titles in a row for Ferrari 2000-2004.
