Monza, Italy - Michael Schumacher in a Ferrari won the Italian Grand Prix in Monza Sunday to narrow the gap on championship leader Fernando Alonso to just two points with three races remaining, after the Renault driver was forced to retire with engine trouble.
Schumacher, who later Sunday is expected to announce his retirement from Formula One from the end of the season, finished ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in a McLaren-Mercedes.
Poland's Robert Kubica in a BMW Sauber took third place in only his third grand prix race.
