What has struck me over say the last decade was the degree of Australian involvement in English cricket. At the county level for sure but with so many Aussies contributing to coaching. For the bowling who argues against Troy Cooley's influence or even way back to '97 Boon with Harminson, and the game generally with Moody and Marsh etc. Yet if one makes a sweeping statement 'Aussies have made a difference to the standard of the English game' is it just technical or is there something else still needed?
And as for Fletcher you can't go from architect of victory (well, ahem) to pulling the rug out by not providing sufficient tactical nous? I can see the English failure but I don't really understand the cause for it. 1st innings 2nd test England came on - had something - but Australia could out think and had the stamina. what's the rest?
Took the words right out of my arse. Poms were pathetic; bring on Bangladesh
Vanillabean, u take your cricket seriously;sounds like u know a little bit about it? Anyway... besides Freddie & Pieterson, no tail & no ticker. U were lucky when u won over in the 'motherland'.

One of the finest cricketing sides ever. In all honesty the Aussies have dominated World cricket for the past fifteen years. Congratulations.
As for England, well, all talk. Character in defeat my a**e. It's the same attitude as The charge of the Light Brigade, the Race for the Antartic etc. Bad preperation, lousey leadership and just no where near good enough. Never mind about the right way, we'll do it the English way. Never mind the cost of. Wake up England... there was no honour or character. No plan, just an acceptance of well we will come second in the Good old fashioned way.
The skipper is begining to use the same sad old cliches that soccer players use.
'the lads' 'hopefully', 'character',
'Also rans' isn't even an appropriate term. Bloody useless.
