Mohali, Oct 29 (IANS) The Punjab Police Sunday detained nearly 250 cricket fans after they were found trying to gain entry to the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium here with fake tickets for the crucial India-Australia match in the ICC Champions Trophy.
The police and private security detained the fans after the tickets were scanned, Superintendent of Police Inder Mohan Singh told IANS.
The fans were trying to get into the stadium through gate number 12 of the stadium to get access to the general block of the stadium.
Police officials said they were investigating from where these people got the fake tickets.
'We will decide whether to arrest them or leave them after investigations,' said a police official.
