Chandigarh, Sep 2 (IANS) The school ground where all-rounder Kapil Dev, bowler Chetan Sharma and southpaw Yuvraj Singh have had their cricketing lessons will soon have a pre-fabricated pavilion for upcoming cricketers.
Work on the pavilion at the DAV senior secondary school here is nearing completion and will be ready for use within a week.
DAV will be the first public school in the region to have a pre-fabricated pavilion with several facilities.
'The pavilion will have an area for players, massage room, media room, store and a room for umpires,' said school principal Ravinder Talwar.
The two-storey structure will have the players' rooms on the first floor along with a portion for VIPs.
Pre-fabricated material, imported from the US, has been used for the pavilion. The construction of the new structure is expected to cost around Rs.1 million. The Punjab Cricket association is to fund half of the expenditure.
