New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) India will play a triangular series with Australia and the West Indies in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in September, days before it hosts the Champions Trophy from October.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), however, did not mention the dates for the seven-match series while making this announcement here Monday.
With this, international cricket returns to Singapore after almost seven years. India's participation in off-shore tournaments was discontinued after the match fixing scandal in early 2000.
The upcoming series is part of BCCI's newly formatted neutral venue schedule, said the statement but did not give more details.
'India will play two matches against Australia and two against West Indies and the finals will follow this,' it said.
'Singapore will host the first three-day one-day internationals while Kuala Lumpur will host the following four matches.'
Australian cricket board will be managing and consolidating all ground handling for the series, said the BCCI.
India's 2006-07 international season begins with a triangular series in Sri Lanka, also involving South Africa. The series starts Aug 14 and ends with the final Aug 29.
The Champions Trophy will be held in India between Oct 7 and Nov 5.
