Edmonton, AB - Ricky Ray completed 20-of-29 passes for 322 yards and a career-high tying five touchdowns to lead the Edmonton Eskimos over the Montreal Alouettes, 47-28.
Jason Tucker had 10 receptions for 217 yards and a touchdown for Edmonton (4- 6-1), which ended a three-game slide. Kamau Peterson, Andrew Nowacki, T.J. Acree, Mike Maurer also caught TD passes for the Eskimos, who won for only the second time in seven games.
Marcus Brady, in his second start behind center for the injured Anthony Calvillo, ended just 8-for-19 for 142 yards with one TD and two interceptions for Montreal (6-5), which has lost two of three. Jarrett Payton ran for 56 yards and two TDs, and Eric Deslauriers caught three passes for 70 yards and a score for the Alouettes, who fell behind early and never recovered.
The Eskimos wasted little time jumping on top, scoring the game's first 17 points. Ray hooked up with Tucker on a 62-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game. Then, after a safety, Ray hit Peterson with a 28-yard TD pass for a 16-0 cushion. Sean Fleming later converted a single for the 17- point advantage.
Montreal got on the board when Brady hit Deslauriers with a 38-yard TD pass to the Alouettes into the second quarter down 17-7.
However, a 14-point second put the game out of reach. Ray hit Nowacki with a five-yard TD pass and Jason Goss returned an interception 82 yards for a score and a 31-7 halftime lead.
Ray continued his big night when he hit Acree with a 17-yard TD pass in the third quarter. Fleming added another single for a 39-7 lead.
Mark Estelle returned an interception 33 yards to give Montreal 14 points. Damon Duvall added a single to make it a 39-15 game.
Ray hit Maurer with a three-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 46-15.
Payton added a pair of one-yard TD runs for Montreal and an Edmonton single on the final play of the game rounded out the scoring.
