Toronto, ON - Hamilton running back Jesse Lumsden took home Offensive and Canadian Player of the Week honors Wednesday for his performance in the Tiger-Cats' 43-22 rout of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Lumsden ripped the Blue Bombers defense for 211 yards on only 12 carries, highlighted by a 75-yard score. Lumsden leads the CFL with 554 rushing yards. This is the second time this season that Lumsden has taken both offensive and Canadian awards in the same week.
He was joined in the weekly honors by cornerback Randee Drew of the Alouettes, who had two interceptions in Montreal's 29-27 overtime win over the Toronto Argonauts to win Defensive Player of the Week. Meanwhile, Dominique Dorsey, who returned a missed field goal 129 yards for a touchdown in the same game was the Special Teams Player of the Week.
