Toronto, ON - Winnipeg Blue Bombers slotback Milt Stegall, who set the Canadian Football League all-time record for touchdowns last Friday against Hamilton, was among the league's players of the week.
Stegall, a 13-year veteran, has 139 career TDs, passing the mark of 137 by Mike Pringle and George Reed. He finished the game with eight catches for 140 yards to garner offensive player of the week honors.
Stegall's teammate, linebacker Barrin Simpson, was chosen as the top defensive player for the week, as he recorded 11 tackles, including one sack, and collected his first interception of the season. It was the second straight week Simpson captured the award.
Montreal Alouettes wide receiver Brian Bratton was named the special teams player of the week for his performance in a victory at Toronto. Bratton returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown and had eight punt returns for 170 yards.
