Toronto, ON - Michael Bishop threw for three touchdowns, as the Toronto Argonauts crushed the Calgary Stampeders, 48-15, at Rogers Centre.
Bishop completed 18-of-23 passes for 273 yards for the Argonauts (2-1), who have won two straight after dropping their season opener. Bishop though left the game with a right wrist injury at halftime. He went to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Andre Talbot, Tony Miles, Arland Bruce and Derrell Mitchell all caught touchdown passes for Toronto, which racked up 403 yards of offense.
Marc Boerighter had five catches for 65 yards for the Stampeders (1-2), who turned the ball over 10 times.
Henry Burris started at quarterback for Calgary and struggled, completing 13-of-27 passes for 131 yards to go along with two interceptions and a touchdown. Akili Smith also saw action at quarterback and fared no better as he was picked off three times. It was Smith's first-ever action in the CFL.
Toronto opened the scoring and grabbed a 7-0 lead after Bishop connected with Talbot for a nine-yard touchdown over the middle of the end zone with 7:22 left in the opening quarter.
A 36-yard field goal by Noel Prefontaine gave the Argonauts a 10-0 lead with about four minutes remaining in the first.
After recovering a fumble early in the second quarter, Toronto's offense cashed in on the turnover as Bishop found Miles open in the end zone for a 26- yard touchdown reception for a 17-point lead.
Prefontaine's 10-yard field goal with 6:32 left in the second stanza gave the Argos a 20-0 advantage.
Bishop and Toronto continued to dominate Calgary and went up 27-0 just before halftime after Bruce hauled in a 14-yard TD pass from Bishop.
The Argonauts went up 41-0 in the third quarter after Jeff Johnson's one-yard touchdown run and Mitchell's 11-yard TD reception from Mike McMahon.
Early in the final quarter, the Stampeders finally got on the board with a single.
A 33-yard TD run by Andre Durie made it 48-1 while Calgary's Jeremaine Copeland's 33-yard TD catch and Brandon Browner's interception return for a score accounted for the final margin.

Mitchell finished with five catches for 64 yards and needs just 28 yards to become Toronto's career receiving leader, surpassing Paul Masotti's mark of 8,772 yards...Toronto recovered three opposition fumbles...The Stampeders have lost seven straight to the Argos and haven't won in Toronto since 2000.
