Regina, SK - Kerry Joseph threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns on 17-of-29 completions, as Saskatchewan plowed through Calgary, 49-8, in a Week 2 matchup between the clubs at Mosaic Stadium.
D.J. Flick led all receivers with six catches for 115 yards and two TD receptions for the Roughriders (2-0), who are tied atop the West Division with the B.C. Lions, who have also begun the season by winning their first two games.
Jason Armstead and Matt Dominguez also had touchdown catches, while Wes Cates rushed for 58 yards and two scores on 11 carries.
Henry Burris completed only 12-of-25 passes for 124 yards, one touchdown and one pick for the Stampeders (0-2). Joffrey Reynolds rushed seven times for 37 yards and recorded Calgary's lone touchdown with a four-yard TD reception.
With a big lead at the break, the Riders kept the pressure on the visitors. Their first drive of the second half was a success, as Joseph found Flick for a nine-yard touchdown pass for a 32-8 lead.
Flick added a two-yard touchdown catch over a minute later to make it 39-8, and Luca Congi hit from 31 yards early in the fourth for a 42-8 lead.
Cates scored again on a five-yard run with 1:45 to play and the rout was finally completed.
The Riders got on the board first, when Joseph connected with Armstead on a beautiful diving 35-yard TD catch in the near left corner of the end zone. The score capped a 104-yard drive on the home team's opening possession.
Calgary came back on a Reynolds four-yard touchdown catch-and-run from Burris on the following drive to tie the game, then went ahead with a single.
A single by Congi after a 46-yard field-goal miss made it 8-8 early in the second quarter, and the Riders went on top again, 15-8, on a Dominguez 32-yard touchdown with 4:13 left in the half.
After holding the Stamps at bay on their possession, it was 22-8 for the home team when Cates rumbled four yards down the right sideline into the end zone with a little more than a minute to go before halftime. Congi added a 39-yard field goal on the last play of the half and Saskatchewan held a solid 25-8 advantage.
