Winnipeg, MB - Kevin Glenn threw for 298 yards on 22-of-38 completions, two touchdowns and two interceptions, as Winnipeg beat Montreal, 32-23, in a Week 2 matchup from CanadInns Stadium.
Terrence Edwards had three receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Bombers (1-0-1). Chris Brazzell caught six balls for 73 yards and one score.
Milt Stegall, who came into the game tied for the league record in touchdown receptions with 137, was covered closely by the Montreal secondary and caught only four balls for 34 yards.
Charles Roberts, who scored four times against Edmonton in Week 1, rushed for 91 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown.
Anthony Calvillo struggled again, completing only 20-of-38 passes for 220 yards, no touchdowns, no picks and was sacked six times for the Alouettes (0-2) who dropped the first two games of a season for the first time since 1996.
Ben Cahoon gained 74 yards on eight catches, Robert Edwards had a rushing touchdown, and Damon Duval connected on five-of-seven field-goal attempts.
Down by nine at the half, Duval missed another field goal on Montreal's first drive of the second, this time from 53 yards out for another single to draw the Als within eight, but on the ensuing possession, Glenn hit Edwards on a 52-yard catch-and-run TD to make it 29-14.
Duval redeemed himself two Montreal drives later, hitting one from 22 yards to make it 29-17, then added a 37-yard make a little more than four minutes into the fourth to bring the Als within nine.
With six-and-a-half minutes to go, Cam Boulay recovered a fumble forced by Davis Sanchez and Montreal took over inside the Bombers' 40-yard-line. However, that drive stalled and Duval was called upon again, and he hit from 33-yards to make it 29-23.
However, Rob Pikula's 35-yard field goal with 1:47 to play put Winnipeg up 32-23 and iced the game for the Eastern Division leaders.
The Als took the opening kickoff and went 37 yards in four plays, scoring their first true points on offense in 2007, as Duval nailed a 40-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead.
Two series later, Montreal went up 10-0 on Edwards' one-yard plunge which capped an 11-play, 90-yard drive helped by Calvillo going six-for-six.
After forcing a two-and-out by Winnipeg, the Als marched downfield again, and on a Duval 51-yarder, made it 13-0.
Winnipeg picked up a single on their first drive of the second quarter after Pikula missed a 43-yard attempt, and scored its first touchdown of the game when Montreal punt-returner Mike Imoh fumbled the ball inside the goal line where it was recovered by the Bombers' Greg Bearman for a 13-8 game.
Roberts ran one in from the one with 2:24 left before the half, and the Bombers grabbed their first lead of the game at 15-13.
Winnipeg picked up another score with 12 seconds before the break as Glenn rolled out of trouble and hooked up with Brazzell on a leaping 19-yard touchdown pass near the right pylon for a 22-13 score.
