Blue Bombers acquire Dorsey, Epps
May 30, 2007, 19:10 GMT
Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers acquired running back/kick returner Dominique Dorsey and defensive end Dwan Epps from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for offensive tackle Eric Wilson on Wednesday.
The diminutive Dorsey led the Roughriders in all-purpose yardage last season with 1,649 yards in 14 regular season appearances. That included 757 yards on 39 kickoff returns, 591 yards on 54 punt returns, 151 yards rushing on 31 carries and an additional 66 yards on seven receptions. His 1,649 total yards ranked seventh among CFL players in 2006.
Epps is entering his fourth CFL season. After missing all of 2005 due to injury, Epps returned last season and recorded 12 tackles in eight games.
'We are extremely pleased to be able to acquire two players with the abilities of Dominique Dorsey and Dwan Epps,' said Bombers general manager Brendan Taman. 'Dominique is one of the most dynamic and exciting special teams players in the league and also has the ability to make a significant contribution on offense. Dwan is an athletic, energetic defensive end who is just coming into his own as a CFL player.'
