Toronto, ON - Montreal running back Robert Edwards was selected as the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week honors for the final week of the regular season.
Edwards capped the Alouettes' fourth-quarter comeback with an eight-yard touchdown to give Montreal a 24-20 win over the Toronto Argonauts. He had 19 carries for 93 yards and was the league leader in touchdowns this season with 17. With the win Montreal clinched first place in the East.
Barron Miles, safety for the B.C. Lions, was named Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 26-16 victory over Winnipeg. The nine-year CFL veteran returned an interception 16 yards, recovered a fumble, knocked down two passes, had a pair of tackles and blocked a punt on special teams to help the Lions to their 13th win this year, tying the club best.
Miles finished the season with a career-high 10 interceptions to top the league and is now second all-time in career blocked kicks with nine.
Toronto defensive lineman Eric England's seven tackles and a quarterback sack in the loss to Montreal earned him Lineman of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Dominique Dorsey, the Saskatchewan Roughriders kick returner, was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and the third time this year.
Dorsey returned four punts for 64 yards, including a 49-yarder that led to a touchdown, and returned three kickoffs for 49 yards.
