Successful debut helps McLendon highlight CFL weekly honors

Toronto, ON - Edmonton running back Ron McLendon and defensive lineman Brandon Guillory were among those awarded Player of the Week honors for play in Week 19.
McLendon made his 2006 debut and ran for 198 yards and a pair of scores in the Eskimos' 30-20 win over Montreal to capture offensive honors. McLendon also had four catches for 27 yards in the win.
Guillory, meanwhile, had two sacks and knocked down a pass in Edmonton's win to earn the Lineman of the Week award. Guillory now has three sacks in just two games this season.
B.C. Lions defensive back Mark Washington earned the Defensive Player of the Week award after he posted an interception, three tackles and a blocked punt in the Lions' 23-17 win over Hamilton.
Kick returner Dominique Dorsey rounded out the awards by capturing special teams honors. The Saskatchewan Roughrider returned eight punts for 104 yards and set up his club's only TD with a 44-yard return. He also returned a pair of kickoffs 38 yards in Saskatchewan's 13-9 victory over Toronto.
