Toronto, ON - B.C. Lions wide receiver Geroy Simon earned CFL Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in the Lions' 28-8 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 16.
Simon had six receptions for 132 yards and one touchdown in the victory, which helped B.C. clinch a playoff spot.
In 14 games this year, Simon has 1,554 receiving yards, just 482 yards shy of the single season record (2,036) set in 1994 by Allen Pitts.
Michael Fletcher, linebacker for the Toronto Argonauts, was named Defensive Player of the Week after recording a season-high nine tackles in the Argonauts 23-16 win over the Calgary Stampeders.
After a 39-18 loss to Calgary just one week earlier, Fletcher led an Argonauts defense that held the Stampeders to one touchdown and three field goals.
In addition to Fletcher, two other Argonauts received Player of the Week honors.
Defensive lineman Eric England recorded one sack for a 10-yard loss and added an interception that he returned 80 yards for a touchdown.
Kick returner Bashir Levingston returned two kickoffs for 66 yards, including a 58-yarder that led to a Toronto field goal, and returned three punts for 51 yards.
