Roughriders sign Yo Murphy

Regina, SK - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed free agent reciever Yo Murphy, the team announced today. Financial terms were not disclosed.
A product of Idaho, Murphy spent the last three seasons with the Ottawa Renegades. In 17 games last season he caught 58 passes for 866 yards and seven touchdowns. Murphy racked up 137 receptions for 2,114 yards and 13 touchdowns in three years with the Renegades.
'Yo will be a great addition to our ball club,' stated Riders' General Manager Eric Tillman. 'He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and will be a huge asset on and off the field.'
Prior to playing with the Renegades, Murphy played in NFL Europe, the XFL, and the NFL with Minnesota, Tampa Bay and St. Louis. He was a member of the 2001 Super Bowl Champion St. Louis Rams, returned the opening kickoff of the game, and had a key reception in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.
Murphy's pro football career in the CFL began in 1994 when he played with the B.C. Lions. Over three seasons Murphy played in 18 games and had 35 receptions for 584 yards and two touchdowns.
