Two Stampeders earn weekly honors

Toronto, ON - Calgary Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris and Winnipeg Blue Bombers linebacker Barrin Simpson were both honored as CFL Players of the Week for the league's ninth week.
Burris earned offensive honors while Simpson was rewarded for his work on defense. Also earning awards were defensive end Brent Johnson of British Columbia as Lineman of the Week while Calgary kicker Sandro DeAngelis earned the award for special teams.
Burris completed 25-of-35 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns as the Stampeders defeated the Montreal Alouettes 27-24. Burris also ran six times for 53 yards.
Simpson, meanwhile, had 11 tackles, one sack and an interception against his former team, the B.C. Lions, in a losing effort. Johnson was honored for the second consecutive week as he posted a sack, two interceptions and a fumble recovery in the Lions' 32-5 win.
Finally, DeAngelis booted both a game-tying 52-yard field goal and a 53-yard winning kick in Calgary's victory.
