Hopkins to face Wright in July

Las Vegas, NV - Bernard 'The Executioner' Hopkins will meet Ronald 'Winky' Wright in Las Vegas on July 21 at Mandalay Bay, it was announced on Saturday.
Hopkins (47-4-1, 32 KOs) hasn't fought since beating Antonio Tarver in a 12- round unanimous decision last June. The reason for the wait, the 42-year-old Hopkins billed that bout as one for retirement.
A middleweight champion for 11 years, Hopkins is reportedly close to getting Freddie Roach as his trainer for the fight. Roach has been training Oscar De La Hoya, who lost via split decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Saturday night.
The 35-year-old Wright (51-3-1, 25 KOs) is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Ike Quartey last December.
