Wlodarczyk takes IBF cruiserweight crown

Warsaw, Poland - Krzysztof Wlodarczyk won a 12-round split decision over American Steve Cunningham to capture the vacant IBF cruiserweight title Saturday.
Wlodarczyk (37-1), fighting in his home country, won by scores of 116-112 and 116-113 on two of the scorecards, while losing 119-109 on the other.
The 25-year-old Wlodarczyk was coming off a first-round technical knockout of Mircea Telecan in July.
There were no knockdowns in the bout.
Cunningham (19-1) hadn't fought since a fifth-round TKO of Lloyd Bryan on January 7.
