Gay and Powell to race against each other in Rome

Rome - Three-time sprint world champion Tyson Gay and former world record holder Asafa Powell of Jamaica will both compete in the 100 metres at the Golden Gala Golden League meeting in Rome on July 10, the athletics ruling body IAAF confirmed Wednesday. American Gay has already run a wind-aided 9.75 seconds in the 100m heats at the United States trials in Oregon while Powell clocked 9.97 at Jamaica's National Championship, finishing decond to world record holder Usain Bolt (9.86).
