Delhi to host international athletics meet

New Delhi, Sep 18 (IANS) Ten countries will take part in the two-day international throws competition, comprising javelin, hammer, discus and shot put events, to be held here Sep 29-30.
Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, Iran, Kazakhistan, Uzbekistan and Tajekistan have confirmed participation in the competition to be held at the Salwan Throws Academy, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announced Monday.
AFI is hopeful that it would receive entries from a few more countries recognised by the International Association of Athletics Federation.
AFI announced that a national throws championship would also be held along with this international meet.
