Report: Marion Jones' 'B' sample negative
Sep 7, 2006, 6:20 GMT
Chicago, IL - Five-time Olympic medalist Marion Jones has reportedly been cleared of potential doping charges after her 'B' sample came back negative.
The Chicago Tribune reported Jones' negative sample on Wednesday and also reported that it was confirmed by Jones' attorneys by e-mail.
In August, Jones' first sample reportedly tested positive for EPO, an endurance-boosting drug. Jones was facing a two-year ban from U.S. Track and Field had her second test come back positive.
Jones has steadfastly denied using performance-enhancing drugs, but has been under pressure from the United States Anti-Doping Agency in regards to the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative steroid distribution case.
Jones was the 100 and 200-meter Olympic champion in 2002 at the Sydney Games and also helped the U.S. 4x400-meter relay team to gold. She also won the bronze medal that year in the long jump and in the 4x100-meter relay.

THESE ATHLETES TEST SAMPLES ARE A JOKE.
ANYBODY CAN TAMPER SAMPLES FROM TOILET TO LAB.
ANYBODY CAN SPIKE THE TUBES TO CONTAMINATE IT AND DESTROY WHAT HAS BEEN A LONG AND FRUITFULL, HONEST CAREER.
THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE OF THE TRUTHFULNESS OF THESE TESTS IS TO HIRE YOUR OWN P.I. AND LET THEM ESCORT YOUR 'A' AND 'B' SAMPLES FROM TOILET TO LAB AND LET THEM ANALYZE THE SAMPLES AT THE POINT OF A GUN....
THATS THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE...
