Wins for Spotakova, Simpson at start of Berlin ISTAF

Berlin - Czech Republic's Barbora Spotakova was the first winner at Berlin's Golden League meeting Sunday when she threw 64.30 metres in the women's javelin.
Spotakova, silver medallist in the European Championships, bettered Germany's Steffi Nerius by 8 centimetres, with third place going to compatriot Christina Obergfoell (62.77).
Sherone Simpson of the United States dominated the women's 100 metres to win in 10.92 seconds, ahead of Me'Lisa Barber of the United States (11.21) and Debby Ferguson of Bahamas (11.24).
Six athletes led by 100 metres world record holder Asafa Powell are seeking a share of a 1-million-dollar jackpot at the ISTAF meeting.
