Austin, TX - Brian Partlow, who spent the last three seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Colorado Crush, has been named the head coach of the Austin Wranglers.
Partlow, who will also serve as offensive coordinator of the Wranglers, signed a five-year contract with the team, through the 2011 season.
'I am very excited to have this opportunity and I look forward to becoming an active member of the Austin community as we build a team that this region is proud of both on and off the field,' Partlow said.
Partlow guided the Crush offense to an Arena Bowl XIX Championship in 2005. He has seven years of AFL coaching experience, including five years as an offensive coordinator.
The Wranglers finished last season with a 10-6 record. They were beaten by Philadelphia in the wild card round of the National Conference playoffs.
Partlow is the second head coach in Wranglers history. He replaces Skip Foster, who was released from his contract following the playoffs.
