Paramount Pictures are looking to bring Spike TV’s hit series ‘Deadliest Warrior’ to the big screen with a full length feature film. The TV series pits warriors from different time periods against one and other in battles to the death.
Spike TV and Paramount Pictures who are both a part of the Viacom company struck a deal to work together and make the ‘Deadliest Warrior’ movie.
In a press release from Paramount Pictures they stated;
“‘Deadliest Warrior’ pits history’s greatest warriors against one another to determine who reigns supreme. Along with the use of 21st century science and the latest in CGI technology, the series enlists world-class fighters, historians and weapons experts to provide insight into the unique history and style of these combatants which culminates in a head-to-head final fight between two warriors to declare which one would have been the deadliest. The first two seasons showed such memorable battles as Spartan vs. Ninja, Viking vs. Samurai, Pirate vs. Knight, Yakuza vs. Mafia and Comanche vs. Mongol. The film’s storyline is being kept under wraps.”
There is no indication as of yet of what direction Paramount Pictures and Spike TV want to take with the movie version of the television series, though it has been reported that director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and writer Dan Devine will be involved in the production of the movie.
