New York: Tony winner, Monty Python’s Spamalot will embark on a U.S tour and open a London production next year according to director Mike Nichols.
Speaking backstage at the Tony’s, Nichols said, “Plans are underway for both. I don’t have the exact dates, but basically they will both happen next year.”
He also said that there have been discussion of turning Spamalot into a film. He said, “But if I have my way that will be many years in the future.”
In Spamalot, the legendary tale of King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table and the quest for the Holy Grail are told through a chorus line of legless knights, men in tights (with killer legs), killer rabbits, and sexy dancing divas.
The musical just won Tony awards for director Nichols, actress Sara Ramirez, and for Best Musical.
