Soundtrack Review: Bride & Prejudice

The opening track ‘Punjabi Wedding Song’ is one of the few songs that aren’t performed in English, but it’s no less entertaining. It’s not hard to guess what the song is about with a group of men and a group of women singing at each other.
The following track ‘Marriage Has Come To Town’ features a wide range of characters which Lalita and her friends meet as they walk through the streets in the movie.
The track ‘No Life Without Wife’ provides further entertainment with its funny lyrics. The song is basically the conversation Lalita has with her sisters about potential husband Mr. Kholi. The majority of the song is rather light-hearted but it ends surprisingly dramatic when a dream Lalita has becomes a nightmare.
One of the highlights of the soundtrack is the beautiful song ‘Take Me to Love,’ which appears in two tracks. ‘Take Me to Love Part One’ is performed as a soft acoustic guitar ballad whereas ‘Part Two’ is more dramatic and upbeat, featuring a full gospel choir.
R&B star Ashanti also provides two tracks for the soundtrack with ‘My Lips Are Waiting’ and ‘Touch My Body,’ which was used in the end credits. ‘My Lips Are Waiting’ is the better song out of the two and it fits in surprisingly well with the rest of the soundtrack.
The soundtrack holds up very well on its own. The vocals throughout are very good and the songs are quite infectious. Even with the absence of the accompanying dance sequences from the movie, the soundtrack is no less entertaining. The soundtrack is bursting with energy and charisma.

i do agree with that comment.. no kissing kills the movie!!
I thought this movie rocked. I could watch it with my kids, who also loved it, and not worry about what they were going to see. I wish there were more movies out there like this one.
great movie - no kissing - no problem - it is a family movie. very warm hearted. wish there were more movies like this one - rates a 10 in my book
my friend is indian, i asked her why the people never kiss in the movie and she said in bollywood films they never actually kiss, but i cant remember why
If you GOT the movie and understand India's customs and morality a little better, you will know why they never kiss on a big screen in public. Thin and lyou will learn a little as did the hero/leading man of the movie.
It is an emotional, sensual, funny and really nice movie, talks about true and pure love without kiss and sex. Hey, it's ok! Shows what's really important - feelings and human values. A kind of Cinderella-story, a beautiful fairy-tale. Perfect! Bride & Prejudice became my favourite movie :)
A lovely movie with lovely soundtrack!!
